Ryan Hughes
Hi, I'm Ryan. I've been building things on the internet since I was 12 — my first website is still online because I forgot the password.
By day I'm Partner & Chief Innovation Officer at Oodle, the agency I co-founded in 2009. I lead our technology strategy and applied AI work, and build the products behind it — Herald came out of that.
When I'm not at Oodle I'm on the core team of Omarchy, DHH's Linux distro, which I've been hacking on since day one. Installation, packaging, hardware support, gaming, theming, CLI tooling, and the package repository we built after one too many 3am AUR outages. I'm somewhat of a reformed Apple fanboy — closed my MacBook in 2024 and never looked back.
Every week my business partner and I record the Not Brothers Podcast, where we argue about tech and business on tape.
I'm a Cincinnati native, now residing in Fort Lauderdale with my wife and two dogs because we've experienced enough seasons for one lifetime.
When I'm not working I'm probably building something else. Other hobbies include 3D printing and raiding in World of Warcraft.
